Route Description

Make sure you have provisions before you leave as there are no shops for the next 10 miles going north. From Larne Leisure Centre, follow the promenade path for 1km, with the sea to your right. On reaching the Coast Road, turn right and follow it, again keeping the sea to your right. At 5km, you pass the entrance to Carnfunnock Country Park on your left and later on pass through small villages. In Glenarm, keep to the right, going over the bridge over Glenarm river.


Getting to the Start

Larne Leisure Centre is on Tower Road, Larne.


Traffic

Usually light traffic, except for Bank Holidays and warm summer weekends. Sundays are popular with motorcyclists. Footways exist only for short distances in villages.


Facilities

Public toilets are available at the villages of Drains Bay, Ballygally, Glenarm and Carnlough. Larne Leisure Centre has toilets and snacks. Carnfunnock Country Park has toilets and a cafe in the summer. There are shops in Glenarm and Carnlough. All toilets are open all year except Christmas Day and New Year's Day. All facilites have disabled car parking spaces.
