Carleton Cycle Trail

The green cycle trail begins at the Rural Centre in Clogher. It has longer straight stretches and only one off-road section through Fardross Forest. From the Rural Centre the trail leads left along the main street before turning right onto country roads. Clear views of Brackenridge's Folly can be seen before passing through heather-clad blanket bog and Fardross Forest. Back on road for Fivemiletown passing Round Lake. Then finally the route continues past Carnagat Forest before returning back to the village of Clogher.

Route Description

Begins at the Rural Centre in Clogher. From the Rural Centre the Green trail leads left along the main street before turning off right signposted Carleton Trail. At the set of crossroads take a right turn which leads to Fardross Forest. Follow the green route through Fardross Forest and continue pass Brown Hill Forest and head for Fivemiletown. From Fivemiletown continue along green route pass Carnagat Forest and finally head towards Clogher to finish.

Getting to the Start

From Belfast - Take M1 for Enniskillen, at end of motorway take A4 for Enniskillen, entering Ballygawley roundabout continue on A4 for Clogher, drive through village Augher, maintain on A4 and from Augher Clogher is 2 mile. Start at Rural Centre in Clogher village.
