Green MTB Trails: A short circuit through the woodland with some gentle climbs and descents. The route follows forest roads and easy single track; an ideal introduction to mountain biking for novices and families.
Blue MTB Trails:
A longer route around Gosford Forest’s perimeter, the Blue Trail takes riders deep in to the heart of the forest on flowing single track. There are 3 optional technical trails which are more challenging and suitable for confident riders. Follow the blue and orange technical section waymarkers.
getting to the start
Gosford Forest Park is located just beside the town of Markethill directly off the main Armagh to Newry A28 route. The entrance to the Forest Park is signposted for traffic approaching from both directions.
facilities
The mountain bike trails are complemented by a skills loop for mountain bikers to hone their skills and a pump track situated along both trails. Please refer to car park pay station for parking charges and information. An annual parking pass can be purchased by visiting getactiveabc.com/Gosford. On-site toilets are available.
information for People with a Disability
All Out Trekking is an exciting new initiative delivered by Disability Sport NI and Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council which provides an inclusive opportunity for people of all abilities to get out into the heart of a beautiful woodland and access Gosford Forest Park's walking and mountain biking trails together.
The project is the first of its kind in the United Kingdom and Ireland using the TerrainHopper and Quadrix all-terrain buggies that are suitable for people with a disability, long term health condition or restricted mobility to access off-road terrains. We also have joystick options of both the Quadrix & Terrainhoppers, which may prove more suitable for anyone with reduced hand/arm function.
1.5 hour guided sessions are available by contacting Disability Sport NI at 028 9046 9925.
